Alchemer can automatically highlight Google reviews that may violate Google's review policies and give you a guided, one-click way to request their removal — directly from your Reviews page.

What it does

As new Google reviews come in, Alchemer reviews them for content that may go against Google's review policies — things like profanity, harassment, hate speech, or personal information. When a review appears to break Google's rules, Alchemer flags it for you and explains why, so you can decide whether to ask Google to take it down.

Alchemer doesn't remove reviews itself. Google always makes the final decision on whether a review is removed. What Alchemer does is surface the reviews worth a second look and make reporting them to Google faster.

Spotting a flagged review

On your Reputation → Reviews page, any review that looks like it may violate Google's policies shows a banner beneath the review text letting you know it's a possible policy violation. The banner gives you two choices:

•     Dismiss — hides the banner if you don't think the review is a problem.

•     Request Removal — starts the process of reporting the review to Google.

Requesting removal

You can request removal in two ways:

•     Click Request Removal on the banner of a flagged review, or

•     Open the Actions menu on any Google review and choose Request removal.

You can request removal on any Google review — not only the ones Alchemer flagged. If you believe a review breaks Google's rules but it wasn't flagged, you can still report it.

When you start a removal request, a window opens showing:

•     A short explanation of why the review may violate policy (for flagged reviews).

•     A violation reason you can confirm or change. For flagged reviews, Alchemer pre-selects the most likely reason for you.

Once you've confirmed the reason, click Continue on Google. A new tab opens on Google's official "Report a review" page with your reason already selected, so you can submit the report to Google in just a few clicks.

Keeping track of removal requests

After someone on your team requests removal, the review shows a note recording who started the request and when. This note is visible to everyone on your account, so your team can see at a glance which reviews have already been reported and avoid duplicate work.

Filtering your reviews

Two filters on the Reviews page help you focus:

•     Policy Violation — show only reviews flagged as possible policy violations.

•     No Policy Violation — show only reviews that were checked and not flagged.

Turn both off to see all of your reviews as usual.

Frequently asked questions

Does this guarantee a review will be removed? No. Alchemer helps you identify and report reviews quickly, but Google decides whether a review is removed, and on its own timeline.

Which review providers does this cover? Currently Google reviews only.

Does Alchemer report reviews automatically? No. Flagging is automatic, but a person on your team always reviews and submits the report. Nothing is sent to Google without you choosing to continue.

Alchemer flagged a review I think is fine. What do I do? Just click Dismiss on the banner. The review isn't changed and nothing is reported.

A review is clearly a problem but wasn't flagged. Can I still report it? Yes. Use Request removal from the review's Actions menu and choose the reason yourself.
