Here's a quick snapshot:

  • Data Types: From follower counts to post analytics, we've got you covered.

  • Timings: The updates are scheduled around midnight UTC, keeping your data consistent and timely.

🔍 Pro Tip: Refer to Table 1 in the article for a detailed breakdown of data collected by each provider. In the context of the data collected, Backfill refers to what historical data we fetch when you link a new social account. Additionally, Update Schedule refers to when and what data is updated. All data that is updated daily is updated at appropriately 12am (midnight) UTC.

A Closer Look at Timelines

Ever wonder about the time lag between social activities and their appearance on LocationHQ? Table 2 demystifies this, detailing the expected delays for different types of data from the moment they're live on social platforms to when you see them in LocationHQ.

Our system works efficiently to minimize the delay between real-time activities on social platforms and their reflection in LocationHQ. However, some natural lags are part of the process. For instance, follower counts might have up to a 24-hour delay, while post analytics could be updated as frequently as every 10 minutes for newer posts.

How Data Collection Impacts Your LocationHQ Metrics

Ever noticed fluctuations in your social metrics? It could be due to new locations added to Chatmeter, provider account credential changes, or provider settings adjustments. This section will help you decode those shifts.

Understanding how changes in your social media profiles or Chatmeter settings can impact your metrics is crucial. The nuances of data collection can significantly impact the metrics you observe in LocationHQ.

If you see unexpected changes in the social metrics you follow, review this section for possible explanations. Here are a couple of scenarios to be aware of:

  • Adding a New Location: Adding a new spot? LocationHQ jumps into action, tracking engagement, Google Q&A, and follower data. But remember, historical data pre-LocationHQ addition isn't included. The exception? Post counts from Twitter/X, Facebook, and Instagram. Watch for an initial data spike, which gradually evens out.
  • Credential Changes: Missing some metrics? A credential update may create a data gap, but fear not, it's only temporary. And heads up, engagement data before May 1, 2020, isn't available.

Double-check those credentials! Facebook and Instagram require special attention for full access. For a deeper dive into managing third-party credentials and understanding delays, see the Table 2. Time between activities on provider sites and data in LocationHQ table.
