You can integrate with Google and Bing APIs to add social media profile links to your Google Maps and Bing listings. This integration supports social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube.
It's important to note that there are some platform-specific differences between Google and Bing. While Google allows you to add links from all the major social media platforms, Bing currently only supports Facebook and Twitter. This distinction can help you tailor your social media strategy for each platform.
When adding social media links to your listing, remember that you can only add one link per social media provider. To ensure this, the system will proactively remove any previously selected platform from the available options. This streamlined process ensures the accuracy and consistency of your listings.
A new check has been implemented to import existing social media links added directly to Google into the Chatmeter dashboard. This prevents duplication of effort for those who have previously added links directly to Google. If there is a discrepancy between a URL in Chatmeter and one already on Google, Chatmeter's entry will overwrite the existing Google link, ensuring Chatmeter remains the source of truth.
The URLs added undergo minimal validation. They must be actual URLs but do not undergo domain validation. This approach operates under the principle of "garbage in, garbage out," emphasizing user responsibility for the accuracy of the input.
