Getting Started
Before diving into content creation, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- Link Your Social Accounts: Integrate your social provider account credentials with your Chatmeter account. For guidance, visit Managing Third-party Credentials in the Settings section of the Chatmeter Support Center.
- Configure User Roles: Align your team's roles with necessary permissions for creating, approving, and publishing social posts. Details can be found under Managing LocationHQ Users and Managing LocationHQ Roles (User Types) in the Settings area of the Chatmeter Support Center.

Select the Provider for Your Post
We’ve enhanced the social media posting experience. You can now cross-post to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, and LinkedIn.
Let's get started! Follow these simple steps to select your posting platform and page:
- Sign in to your Chatmeter account in LocationHQ.
- Navigate to Social > Publish, click Create Post, and select the platform where you want your post to shine.
- On the Create Post page, do the following:
- In the Targets field, choose your audience - be it Groups, Pages, or specific Locations. At least one page must be selected.
- Select one or more providers: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, or LinkedIn.
- Create the content for your post using AI or the traditional way. See Craft Your Message for more details.

Now, let's shape your message. Choose between the innovative AI Generator for automated creativity or the classic cut-and-paste method for a personal touch. Also, leverage merge codes for seamless content management.

Method 1 - Using AI Generator to create content for a post
Create compelling posts with simple steps using our innovative AI Generator on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, and Google What’s New.
- Under the Message text box, click AI Generator to open the Generate a Message with AI dialog.
📣 Note: Be aware of the following character limitations: - X has a limit of 280 characters for posts.
- Instagram has a minimum of two characters.
- Threads has a limit of 500 characters for posts.
- Apple Showcase has a maximum limit of 38 characters for headers and 58 for the message.
- Select a Message Type that suits your needs – Simple Post, Product/Service, or Event.
- Select a Message Style – from simple to formal and informal to funny.
- Add details about your message. For events, include the date and time. Then select Generate.
If the generated post isn’t quite right, edit it or generate new ones until satisfied.
🔍 Pro Tip: As you prepare your post, look for the merge codes button to insert or type them manually. Merge codes are your go-to for consistently using essential business details like business name, address, etc.
If you believe the post is unacceptable or inappropriate, you can report it to us by selecting Report. - Add hashtags and emojis for that extra flair!
- When you’re satisfied with the message, click Add to preview it.
- Click Images & Video, select the Add images and video link or the plus search for an existing image from the Gallery or to Upload New Media.
You can add two images or one video with your textual content. If you add a video, you can’t add a second video or images. - Facebook lets you add as many as 10 images per post.
- Apple only permits one photo, and images must be:Aspect ratio of 1:1
- Greater than 492px by 492px and less than 4864px by 4864px
- JPEG, PNG, or HEIC
- No transparency
- Threads images must be:
- JPEG or PNG
- 8 MB maximum.
- Aspect Ratio Limit: 10:1
- Minimum Width: 320
- Maximum Width: 1440
- Ready to publish your post?
Next, select Schedule Post. You’ll receive a success notification, and the post will be listed on the Publish page as Scheduled.
📣 Note: For Apple Showcase posts, you must create and schedule your post at least 3 days before the publication date. - Yes — Click Publish Now.
- No — Click Add Schedule under Schedule, select the Date, Time, and Time Zone for publication, then select OK.

- Directly type or paste your content into the Message text box and watch your post come alive in the Preview pane.
